Paignton Beach is the heart of the resort — a long, wide stretch of golden sand running through the centre of town, anchored at one end by the Victorian Paignton Pier. The beach has a lively, traditional seaside feel with donkeys in summer, amusements, and a promenade lined with ice cream kiosks and fish and chip shops. It’s one of the most accessible beaches in Torbay, with easy parking nearby and flat access to the sand. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer season.
